‘Heal Thyself’ is a spiritual classic and one of White Eagle’s most popular and best-selling books. I confess that when I began this book, I expected a step-by-step guide to healing myself. However, this is not a “how-to” guide, but a deeper instruction on the principles of healing.
White Eagle teaches that first and foremost, we should love our bodies. Our bodies are a reflection of God and are meant for service to God. We must treat our bodies as temples. We shouldn't overwork or overindulge them. We should keep them pure and treat them lovingly. By meditating, we enable healing from a deeper level by helping our bodies to rise above the physical.
When we turn to our innermost centre, we connect with the Christ light which is all love. As we love truly, our etheric bodies become filled with light, this transmutes through to the physical body as health. We also become as a beacon of light to those around us; blessing both them and ourselves. Therefore, seek the Christ through prayer and meditation so that the light can shine through. This is how we open the channel for our healing. Sometimes this healing comes instantly, in the removal of pain, for example, but often it is the soul that needs to be worked through for the healing to take place.
I highly recommend Heal Thyself to all those who are seeking healing in any form. I gained so much from reading this book. It is a handy guide I can use to remind myself of the things I need to do to facilitate my own healing. It is easy to read and to dip into, and I would recommend it to all – from the spiritual newcomer, to the experienced seeker – and especially to those with an interest in healing. A ‘must-have’ book for every enlightened shelf!
